Foreign Minister Anifah Aman today denied receiving part of the RM2.6 billion deposited into Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's personal bank accounts.
"On Aug 18, 2015, (Gelang Patah MP) Lim Kit Siang questioned if I had received money from the prime minister’s personal account in relation to the on-going stories about 1MDB.
"I did not receive any funds from prime minister's personal account," he said in a statement today.
Anifah also warned Lim (photo) against suggesting that he had been engaged in any wrongdoing.
"I would urge Lim to stop insinuating any wrongdoing on my part without evidence.
"I would not hesitate appropriate action if Lim continues in the same vein," said Anifah.
Yesterday, Lim named a list of 20 minister and deputy ministers, including Anifah, calling on them to declare whether they had received any funds from the billions deposited into Najib's personal bank accounts.
Najib had insisted that the money he received was a political donation and did not have any elements of corruption.
