Muhyiddin honoured with mural in Kluang

Pictures of the mural bearing an image closely resembling that of former DPM Muhyiddin Yassin is going viral.

PETALING JAYA: A mural with an image bearing close resemblance to that of former Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin has sprung up in Kluang, although the location cannot be ascertained for sure at this juncture.

Shots of the mural, which have gone viral, were found on the Instagram account of comedian and actor Shahrol Azizie Azmi, popularly known as Shahrol Shiro, a report on Malaysiakini said.

Among the shots was one Shahrol captioned: “covert operation” in which two men with spray cans in hand, are pictured standing in front of the unfinished mural.

Most likely snapped at night, the darkness made it impossible to discern the faces of the men.

Another shot is of the finished mural, also taken at night with a group of people crouching in front of it.

The mural itself shows a larger than life portrait of Muhyiddin, with the words, ‘From the Kluang kids, (we) salute Muhyiddin Yassin’ emblazoned beside his image.

Muhyiddin was dropped from Prime Minister Najib Razak’s Cabinet last month two days after speaking to delegates of the Umno Cheras division. In his speech he was critical of the PM’s handling of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) and called on Najib to explain to the people what was going on.
