NAJIB BRINGING M'SIA DOWN? Tell your MPs if you want Najib REMOVED - MCA man tells M'sians
KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysians who feel Datuk Seri Najib Razak should not stay on as prime minister should raise their concerns with their respective lawmakers, former deputy minister Gan Ping Sieu said.
Gan, who is also MCA vice-president and co-president of civil society group Center for a Better Tomorrow, said this is one way within the democratic process to remove Najib from office.
“If you believe in the rule of law and the constitutional process, which I no doubt defend, a sitting prime minister can only be ‘removed’ when he loses the confidence of the majority elected members of Parliament,” he said in a post on his Facebook page.
“Well, please express your honest view to your MP, both in private and public; even organize a petition to ask your MP to take a clear and unequivocal stand whether he or she still think that our PM should continue to serve,” he added.
One other option, Gan said, is to wait for the next federal polls where voters can express their discontent through the ballot box.
Those still in support of Najib, on the other hand, similarly have the right to defend the prime minister by expressing their confidence in his leadership, he added.

“The choice is ours. Do remember, the mandate of PM and MPs all come from the People,” Gan said.
Najib’s leadership has been dogged by negative publicity over the prime minister’s handling of 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), the state-owned firm said to have racked up a reported RM42 billion debt since its inception in 2009.
The 1MDB mess has triggered calls for Najib to step down ahead of his term, a campaign that influential former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been zealously leading.
Dr Mahathir recently said that with Najib still in power, the investigation on 1MDB would not be carried out thoroughly.
Polls watchdog Bersih 2.0 is holding an overnight rally this August 29 and 30 to demand for free and fair elections, and to protest the Najib administration’s handling of the controversies surrounding 1MDB.- Malay Mail
