PARANOID NAJIB: Umno woman who sent memo asking him to take leave to be PROBED
JOHOR BARU - Disciplinary action may be taken against a female Pasir Gudang Umno member who had given a memorandum to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak who was officiating the party’s division meeting in Pasir Gudang yesterday.
It is learnt that the Umno member, a 40-year-old woman, is also a Johor Special Affairs Department (Jasa) officer currently attached to the Permas state assembly seat.
The Permas state seat is under Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, who is the constituency’s assemblyman and also Pasir Gudang Umno division chief.
Her photograph with the memorandum, which is said to have been endorsed by 107 Umno branch heads from the party’s Pasir Gudang division, has been making its rounds on Facebook since late yesterday.
The memorandum, containing 12 points, among them asking Najib to take a rest from office, was personally handed to the Umno president after he officiated the party’s Pasir Gudang division meeting yesterday.
A source familiar with the state Jasa department and its regulations said that the officer in question may have to face a disciplinary and ethics (tata tertib) inquiry following her non-sanctioned action.
“As an officer in a government information agency, the involvement of her in a political party also needs the approval of the department’s director-general,” the source told The Rakyat Post today.
The source revealed that the officer had more than 10 years of service with the department and should be well-versed in the code of conduct for a civil servant as she was also dealing with Najib, who is not only Umno president, but also the country’s Prime Minister.
“We are still awaiting further instructions from headquarters if an investigation into the matter will be carried out on the officer,” added the source.
Earlier, at a separate event, Johor Umno secretary Md Jais Sarday said that he saw no wrong in a party member submitting a memorandum to the top leadership.
“I believe it is the right of the party members to do so,” he said after launching the JBiotech UTM-MTDC Aidilfitri reception in Skudai near here today.
However, Md Jais maintained that the stand of Johor Umno to be loyal to the party president remained and had been conveyed by the party’s state liaison committee chief ,who is Khaled.
Meanwhile, when contacted, a spokesperson for the Johor Umno state office said they will investigate the claims if the party’s Pasir Gudang division committee member had flouted party rules with her action yesterday. - Therakyatpost
