The RPK and the Banker

t must have been a brave decision to engage the services of Malaysia’s foremost political blogger, something that required an unorthodox person to execute, but right now RPK is the biggest online asset  for the Najibs.
Spin Kings
You have to hand it to Raja Petra Kamaruddin for being able to come back from the "dead" to make into the inner circle of the Prime Minister's advisers.

It was only 6 years ago when RPK was Public Enemy Number One (PENO) as far as the Najib-Rosmah was concerned. He made a Statutory Declaration stating that he had been reliably informed that Datin Seri Rosmah was present during the murder of Altantuya Sharibu. He was arrested on the Sedition Act, caged behind bars, released from custody pending a formal charge and mysteriously escaped to the UK where he tried to rebuild his life in the restaurant business.

In fact, so angry was Datin Seri Rosmah at RPK's escape, that it was rumoured that this had led to the termination of Tan Sri Musa Hassan's services as Inspector General of Police.

However, from being worse than a Voldermot to the Najibs, he is now very much part of their spin PR team. It must have been a brave decision to engage the services of Malaysia's foremost political blogger, something that required an unorthodox person to execute, but right now RPK is the biggest online asset  for the Najibs.

He has the inside "stories" about the various machinations, movements and counter moves to remove Najib, as he taunts and mocks Najib's enemies on their failure to oust the 1MDB Chairman from his perch.

Here are some of the bold predictions he has got right

1. On May-31, 2015 RPK broke the story of the challenge Najib issued to his cabinet to those who were not with him  on 1MDB, to resign. (Link over here). This was later confirmed by several Cabinet ministers. The KLSE closed at 1,743 on 01 June and Dollar: RM at 3.6839 on the same day
Khairun has great influence over Najib and
the Chief Secretary, Ali Hamsa

2.  On Jun  07, 2015, RPK broke the story of why the PM's strongest influencer, Datuk Khairun Aseh, had advised the PM to cop out of the "Nothing to hide" talk that was held several days back. No doubt, RPK was engaged in a "damage limitation" spin exercise at that point. Link over here. In this article, RPK basically betrays the fact that the PM's advisers view Khaiy Jamaluddin with extreme suspicion and consider Pemuda UMNO to be the enemy.

KLSE closed at 1,736.07 on June 8th, and Dollar : RM at 3.7526.

3.  On July 07, 2015, RPK breaks the story of an impending move to be launched against Najib in an article entitled "MALAYSIA’S FIRST COUP D’ÉTAT". RPK later reveals that the movement consists of 6 Tan Sri's, presumably the  4 heads of the enforcement agencies, Tan Sri Muhiyiddin Yassin and a Tan Sri who used to be on the Board of Advisers of the MACC.

This was the day when the task force issued a statement that was signed  by all 4 members, which was related to a freeze order being placed on several bank accounts linked to investigations into the illicit movement of funds into the banking accounts of the Prime Minister / 1MDB Chairman.

This story is extremely important because RPK is trying to cover the fact  all the while one of the task force members was not actually interested in uncovering the truth surrounding 1MDB but in covering the perpetrator of these crimes. Around this time, Claire Rewcastle Brown is put under surveillance and images and pictures of who she meets are being forwarded to RPK for "name and shame" antics.

In this regard, RPK actually makes a mistake.  He confuses the resoluteness of the MACC, the AG chambers and the BNM in investigating the case with that of a party playing politics. MACC approached this task because brave men in the office decided that it was time to take action out of a patriotic duty to save the Country.

KLSE closed at 1,712.3 and Dollar:RM at RM 3.8172

(Note: The next day RPK says that a counter coup was on the way)

4. On July 15, 2015, RPK breaks the story of Tun Musa Hitam talking about the reasons for Tun Dr Mahathir move against the PM over here. RPK spins Tun Musa's statement as saying that it confirms that Dr Mahathir's attempt to remove the Prime Minister (he calls it a "coup", others call it enforcing the law) has nothing to do with the allegations surrounding 1MDB but more to do with Najib's refusal to accede to Tun Dr Mahathir.

Now here is the interesting part of this entire machination.

Why Tun Musa? This guy does not hold any real legitimate power at all. He has no position in UMNO and can't even control his one time protege who recently bought some Najib sponsodered 4 + 2D and struck 2nd prize of RM 1 million. (A budding chef, pretending to be a Deputy Minister, struck first prize of RM 2 million).

This question had got me stumped for a while.

But now I know.

The reason is that all roads lead through Tun Musa. Politics in Malaysia is whisper politics, people whisper to this guy, ask them what do you think? The other guy whispers to the other guy and says he says this, what to do you think, so on, so forth.

So Tun Musa is like the Leicester Square - Piccadilly Circus of this whisper network. He talks to both the pro Najib and the anti Najib.  He is supposed to be the canary in the coal mine.  For those who don't know, the canary in the coal mine refers to the practice of putting a bird in the coal mine. If the bird dies, then the miners know that there is a build up of poisonous gas .

So Tun Musa actually serves the same purpose, they know that Tun Musa will not be afraid to speak his mind - he is the "Early Warning Alert" for Najib". He will be the first out to sound it out and then those close to Najib will know that it is over.   this is because those around Najib are either to psychopathic or disloyal. Najib on the other hand is a very very very loyal and patriotic man - he will never abandon his allies, the people or the Malays. If he receives money is not corruption but "donation".

Interestingly, Dato Kadir Jasin had this to say on his last meeting with Tun Musa

FOOTNOTE: Met (Tun) Musa Hitam again on Friday (at Sime Darby’s open house). He told me (in front of one or two staunchest supporters of the PM) that plot has changed yet again. Now the old fox is having the upper hand over the chicken

KLSE closed at 1,726.3 and Dollar:RM at RM 3.8053.

5. On July 27, 2015  - RPK gets all alarmed as he writes about Tan Sri Muhiyiddin's speech when opening the UMNO Cheras Assembly in his article entitled "Finally, what we have been waiting for, Number 2 shoots Number 1."

The entire article is spin . 100% spin. RPK says that TSMY had to openly attack the PM in order to earn the job of becoming the next Prime Minister. Later on, after TSMY had been sacked, he will say that TSMY knew he was going to be sacked and wanted to create the impression that he got sacked because of his criticisms of 1MDB.

On July 28, 2015, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and Tan Sri Ghani Patail was sacked as the Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia and Attorney General of Malaysia respectively.

On July 31, 2015,  Prime Minister Najib Razak, new Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, Dato Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and KBAB51 are seen at the Warrior Day celebrations together with the YDP Agong.

The KLSE ends in July 31, 2015 at 1,723 and the Dollar Ringgit at RM 3.8277.

6. In his latest article, "Najib appears to have more lives than a cat" , RPK reveals how a pact comprising of several Opposition MPs and a Timmy Thomas Train lawyer were in the midst of arranging for 120 Statutory Declarations by MPs to declare that they have lost confidence in the Prime Minister.  RPK attempts to mock their attempt by claiming that the YDP will not go along with this on the "basis of lies, innuendos, insinuations and fabricated allegations supported by doctored evidence."

(Dollar - RM at 4.0805 as of close of trading on Friday, 14th of August. KLSE closed at 1,596.82)

Okay - a mouthful and you are here. So what's the point.

Several things

1.  To the PM and his advisers, they view all of this criticisms against Dato Seri Najib, 1MDB and the many scandals he has been involved as personal attacks. They fail to see that these attacks are in response to the ton of problems Dato Seri Najib has created for the country.

They also seem to think of this as a game. Plan A, Plan B, Plan C or Plan X.  I have met these kind of people before - I describe them generally as the "busuk hati" type of people. Lies, spin, deception - do whatever it takes to win.

2.  Now this is the key part - what is the measure of success? Preserving Najib's position as PM for another day. So if Najib survives as PM until 31-Jan-2016, then they are more successful than if Najib survives as PM until 31-Dec-2015?

Come on - the man is hated by  everybody.

UMNO members themselves accuse him, in the most unflattering but direct manner, of literally "urinating" on the 3 million UMNO members. People mock him, others curse him - people only smile when they are in front of him and when Najib turns their back, they stab him.

Even his own brother does not like him and thinks that Najib is bad for the country!
In Johor, anti Najib resentment has split out into the open.
Elsewhere in other states, division leaders beholden to Najib muzzle the voices of the grassroots.

Umno deputy minister Datuk Ahmad Maslan was booed by delegates from his own Pontian division today during the annual general meeting. – The Malaysian Insider pic by Nazir Sufari, August 16, 2015.
The PM's staunchest flunkey, Dato Ahmad Maslan, sits ashed faced
after he was repeatedly boo-ed by members of his own Pontian UMNO division.
The Pontian UMNO division leader  later told Ahmad Maslan pointedly
that UMNO was not a party for bootlickers.

But remember, RPK  he is many things - businessman, anarchist, blogger, story teller, idealist, etc. For RPK to see UMNO burn inside by supporting who is the worst leader ever is no water off his back - heck, he may even be quite happy to support a person he knows will bring ultimate destruction to UMNO and to Malaysia.

(In RPK's psychology he feels that he was wronged . He gave up a lot to fight for justice, etc but was left bruised and disappointed. Those who once supported him and cried Hey Ho were just offering fan boy support. They never cared whether RPK could have food and were just giving token support. So by supporting the person they hate and getting paid for it, RPK satisfies his desire for VENGANCE).

3.  There is no such thing as Plan A, B or Plan X.

There is only Plan A and Plan B.

Plan A - the institutions of a country are able to "self regulate" and when push comes to shove, are able to enforce discipline to the market, which could mean the political market as well.

Plan B - the Capital Market does it for you.

So when you get a case of a Prime Minister being caught with RM 2.5 billion in his personal accounts and an entity with debt as much as RM 50 billion, basically being used to siphon money from the country, the people who determine what your country is worth get a bit upset.

They previously thought that you may be a bit special, and refused to believe the tales that your really just another tin pot democracy. But after a while they take notice. "Well if they insist to behave like a tin pot, then we will value them as a tin pot."

Will the Malaysian people be willing to suffer this loss?

Or perhaps will the millions of Bangladeshi workers be willing to suffer further foreign exchange loss? Will they demonstrate in Chow Kit and demand that Najib leave so that the Ringgit will strengthen?

Who knows, only time will tell.
