PETALING JAYA - A fake screenshot of a news article claiming that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak had an affair with Marina Mahathir is making its rounds on social messaging sites.
The article bears The Malaysian Insider's logo and layout with the headline reading: Najib pernah ada hubungan sulit dengan anak saya, Marina, kata Mahathir ("Najib had an affair with my daughter, Marina, says Mahathir") coupled with a picture of Dr Mahathir.
The news portal, however, denied writing such an article stating that the screenshot is fake.
"No such article was ever written by a staff of The Malaysian Insider, nor did the website ever publish such an article," a statement read on their website.
Twitter user @KerajaanRakyat2 posted the screenshot and tagged Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir, to which she responded briefly, "Tipu la…" ("That's a lie.").
