WHAT SAYS JOHOR SULTAN? Najib says no problem between him & Ruler - Puad
BATU PAHAT - There is no relationship problem between Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.
Umno supreme council member Datuk Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi explained that certain quarters had spread rumours on social media the Sultan and Najib were not on good terms.
The photos of Sultan Ibrahim and Najib attending Singapore's National Day event in the republic on Aug 9 went viral on social media. It showed Najib and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah walking past the Sultan and his son Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail.
"I met with him (Najib) recently and he told me there is no misunderstanding between him and the Sultan.
"In fact, Najib had greeted His Majesty before the start of the National Day parade in Padang,'' he told reporters after opening the Batu Pahat Umno division meeting at Dewan Jubli Intan here on Saturday.
Puad said Najib had been the victim of social media attacks by certain parties who created false stories and tried to diminish his image.

"Umno must react fast as our party president has been attacked daily in social media, we must not be slow in defending Najib.
"The party's cyber-troopers should fight fire with fire by giving the facts and truth to counter the manipulative stories making rounds in social media," he said.
Otherwise, he said, people would start to believe the stories spread by rumour-mongers.
Puad, who is also the Special Affairs Department (Jasa) director-general, agreed that the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) should conduct a research on social media.
"However, this must be done without interfering with freedom of speech. I hope people will still give their views, which must be based on facts and not lies," he said. - ANN
