KUALA LUMPUR - The transfers of two Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officers were not linked to a police investigation against them, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said today.
He also said it was ordinary for public servants to be transferred at any time and to any other agency.
“It has completely nothing to do with the action by the Royal Malaysia Police against the two senior officers; in fact, I think it is only an administrative matter conducted by the Public Services Department,” he was quoted as saying by Berita Harian today.
“Every government officer is subject to circulars and general orders, and there is even an oath signed during their appointment.
"As such, I don’t think this issue should be politicised.
Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin previously said the transfer of the two officers was “most strange” as they were simply doing their jobs.
Yesterday, a source confirmed with Malay Mail Online that MACC special operations division director Datuk Bahri Mohamad Zin and strategic communications director Datuk Rohaizad Yaakob have been transferred to the Prime Minister’s Department due to “disciplinary issues”. - Malay Mail
