DAP’s Teresa Kok wants Tajuddin expelled or suspended for slap threat

Teresa Kok wants the Prime Minister to suspend the Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister  for threatening to slap Chinese Malaysians who took their grouses outside Malaysia.

The DAP lawmaker also wants Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman expelled for denying uttering offensive remarks, which included lempang (slap), despite the latter’s remarks being recorded.

Tajuddin’s remarks, Kok said in a statement, hurt the sensitivity and feelings of the Chinese community and an apology or retraction “will not be sufficient”.

“The Prime Minister must take stern action against him. Datuk Seri Najib must suspend or expel him as the deputy minister so to send a clear signal to all Malaysians that he and the Cabinet will not tolerate such racial, obnoxious and offensive remarks which are also clearly against his 1 Malaysia concept.”

Najib, the Seputeh Member of Parliament added, should be reminded that this was not the first time Tajuddin has made obnoxious remarks or displayed unacceptable conduct.The 1Malaysia concept is one espoused by Najib when he took over the country’s administration of which focuses on racial unity.

Kok noted that on November 6, 2008, he had used the terms “bastard” and “bloody bastard” against the DAP Member of Parliament for Ipoh Barat, M. Kulasegaran in Parliament.

The Pasir Salak lawmaker got away for such contempt of Parliament by merely withdrawing the un-parliamentarily terms when he should have been severely punished, she said.

Kok said it was obvious Tajuddin had not learned any lesson.

She then trained her guns on Gerakan and MCA which had a couple of days ago accused DAP of hijacking the Berish 4 rally causing Malays to react by organizing the Red Shirts Rally.

“Let’s see if both Gerakan and MCA will again show their stupidity by saying that DAP was the cause for Tajuddin Abdul Rahman’s offensive remarks against the Chinese.” -therakyatpost
