KIT SIANG TO TRAVEL HALF THE COUNTRY IN SIX MONTHS FOR ‘MANA 2.6B?’ CAMPAIGN

(Malay Mail Online) – DAP’s Lim Kit Siang does not intend to be idle during his six-month suspension from Parliament, saying today he wants to visit more than half the country’s 222 federal constituencies for his “Solidarity with Lim Kit Siang &  ‘Mana 2.6b?’ ” campaign.
The 74-year-old politician said by the end of the six months, he hopes to return to the Dewan Rakyat with a “strong and unmistakable” mandate from Malaysians to demand answers on two issues — the RM2.6 billion political donation found in Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s accounts and the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) saga.
“Every Malaysian have a right to know the true story,” he said in a statement this morning from Senai in Johor, the 28th parliamentary seat he has visited for the campaign launched earlier this month.
“Let ordinary Malaysians, regardless of race, religion, region or even politics, send a clear message to Najib and his government that they can suspend one Lim Kit Siang in Parliament, but tens and hundreds of thousands and even millions of Malaysians will rise up and declare ‘I am also Lim Kit Siang’ to ask the same question: ‘Mana RM2.6 billion?’,” he added.
Lim, who is DAP’s Gelang Patah MP, said he will pay special attention to Johor and will try to visit all 56 state and 26 federal seats during his six months.
On October 22, Lim was suspended for six months from Parliament for insulting Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia.
The veteran MP reportedly accused Pandikar of exceeding his authority when he ordered the suspension of the Public Accounts Committee’s (PAC) 1MDB probe until a new chairman was appointed.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is currently investigating the RM2.6 billion donation issue while the state-owned 1MDB is under probe by a number of authorities, both local and international.
