Malay rights group Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali has called on PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli to be a “real whistleblower” and publicly reveal issues surrounding allegations that “money and women” were requested during negotiations with the Selangor state government.
Ibrahim said this was because the Pandan MP is known for exposing alleged wrongdoings in the federal government’s administration.
“Rafizi is a ‘champion whistleblower’ but now he cannot reveal the information he had received.
“If he is consistent, Rafizi should expose the wrongdoings without the need to refer to his (PKR) president, Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail,” Ibrahim said at a press conference at Perkasa’s office in Kuala Lumpur today.
Ibrahim said that going by Rafizi’s “habit” of exposing things before finding out head or tail of the matter, the same approach is not taken when his own party is involved.
“He can only reveal to his president. That's not fair. If he is a man of integrity, he should reveal (publicly) even if it involved his own party,” said Ibrahim.
He also said that Rafizi should have emulated principles adopted by parliamentarians in the US, UK and Japan.
“A true leader with integrity will not compromise with any party that he joins… whatever party that he joined, when he goes to Parliament, he will make decisions based on his personal convictions.
“In fact, he can even agree or disagree with his party. He can agree with his party’s leader or not, can vote for or against (any motion),” said Ibrahim, referring to politicians in more developed countries.

Wan Azizah last night said the party’s political bureau has decided that Rafizi should hand over all evidence surrounding the allegations directly to the Malaysian Anti- Corruption Commission.
The allegations first surfaced through Rafizi’s WhatsApp message in the 'Solidarity for Anwar' group that was later leaked to the media.
Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali, in response, dismissed the allegations as being part of a systematic smear campaign against the state government. -Mkini
