PETALING JAYA: “God told me to come to your house.”
That was the reason given by a man after he was found inside the courtyard of a High Court judge’s home in Segambut last Saturday.
According to a report by the China Press, the man, believed to be mentally ill, scaled a wall to enter the courtyard.
However, the judge’s wife caught the intruder in the act around 4pm and informed her husband, who ordered him to leave immediately, which he did by clambering back over the wall and disappearing.
However, the incident took a turn for the bizarre when the suspect returned to the house in a Honda HR-V some 30 minutes later, rang the doorbell, and apologised to the judge, saying “God” had asked him to go to the house.
Sentul police chief ACP R Munusamy said the incident occurred at a housing estate in Segambut, where a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera in the victim’s home captured a glimpse of the suspect in a blue shirt and black slacks.
A police investigation found that the vehicle the suspect used was listed as missing since April 4, 2016.
“Police have not ruled out the possibility that the suspect was involved in the theft of the car, but the matter is still under investigation.
“Police have seen the CCTV camera footage and are intensifying efforts to locate the suspect,” Munusamy said, adding that police were also puzzled by the suspect’s motives.
He said the case was being investigated under Section 448 of the Penal Code for trespassing.
