TUARAN: A woman was seriously injured when the car she was driving was involved in a collision with a four-wheel drive vehicle (4WD) that was ferrying a state assistant minister here today.
Lily Tang Yien Ping, 22, who sustained head injuries in the crash at a junction near Marabahai, Jalan Berungis-Tenghilan was sent to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital where she was warded.
Sabah Youth and Sports Assistant Minister Masiung Banah and several others in the Toyota Land Cruiser escaped unhurt in the 9.30am accident that also involved a Perodua Kancil.
Tuaran police chief DSP Abdul Fuad Abdul Malek said at the time, Masiung was on his way to attend a youth programme officiated by Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin in Kota Belud.
He said initial police investigations revealed the Perodua Axia driven by Tang had suddenly exited the T-junction before it collided with the 4WD and the other car at the junction.
