Johor Sultan Ibrahim Ismail Sultan Iskandar said he is prepared to disclose information to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) over alleged attempts to purchase titles from him.
“I want the MACC to seek an audience with me so that this matter can be investigated,” he said in a statement released on his official Facebook page today.
The monarch in his statement today reiterated that Johor titles were not for sale.
“In Johor... we have dignity. Money cannot buy titles,” he said.
Sultan Ibrahim in an interview on Wednesday claimed agents had tried to lobby him for the purchase of titles.
“There were agents who came to see me and told me that I have Tan Sri quotas for sale and wanted to give me RM2 mllion for the title.
“I told the agent, who I do not wish to name because it would be embarrassing, to get lost. I do not sell titles,” he was quoted as saying in an interview with the New Straits Times.- Mkini
