The people are grateful, what about ruling elite?

Writer says gratitude works both ways as politicians must be grateful for the numerous pensions they will enjoy, aside from benefits they currently receive.

”To be grateful” is a magical phrase in Malaysia today.
BR1M recipients must be grateful for the hand-outs given to them.
Pensioners must be grateful for the pensions received.
Government servants must be grateful for the secured jobs made available to them.
Workers must be grateful that the unemployment rate in the country is low.
Students must be grateful for the PTPTN loans they can depend on.
Children must be grateful for the free education made available.
Contractors and businessmen must be grateful for the profits they make.
The people must be grateful for the RM1 medical treatment at government hospitals and clinics.
Since everyone in the country must be grateful, I am sure the ruling elites and politicians too must be more than grateful.
They must be more than grateful for their opulent lifestyles – jet setting, luxurious homes, expensive handbags, jewellery and endless banquets.
They must be more than grateful for the numerous pensions they enjoy or will enjoy – pensions that were dished out generously for each of the positions they held.
They must be more than grateful for paying themselves first.
They must be more than grateful for the docile Malaysians they can lord over.
Malaysians are grateful for this blessed country – a country rich in resources built by the blood, sweat and ingenuity of its people.
All are grateful for this country. Those who enjoy more but do less should not be telling others to be grateful. They should quietly enjoy their good fortune for now.
