Ti: Does Kit Siang expect to fool the Chinese twice?

DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang's formula for Pakatan Harapan to win the next general election was flawed because the prediction was based on higher Chinese support, said MCA central committee member, Ti Lian Ker.
However, it is unlikely for Harapan to enjoy the same level of Chinese support because the Chinese community is disappointed with how the opposition's support for PAS in 2013 had led to the "Talibanisation" of the country.
He said the Chinese community had trusted DAP and Lim when they urged the public to vote for PAS, but now that PAS has spurned the DAP and is actively pursuing an Islamic agenda, DAP turned to former enemies such as Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
"Chinese voters are a trusting lot but DAP cannot treat them like fools or take their support for granted by being directionless or wishy-washy when it comes to seeking a political partner.
"Chinese voters who voted for PAS under Lim and DAP's advice are now feeling like fools. Will they feel the same about Mahathir and Muhyiddin Yassin's party (Bersatu) whose politics is reliant on 'Pribumi' sentiments?
"Are the Chinese ready to be burnt by Lim one more time or will they be less passionate and wary of DAP now?" said Ti in a statement today.
DAP's long list of ex-lovers
Ti said DAP and Lim's "flip-flops" when it comes to forging alliances, had left the Chinese community jaded and tired.
"DAP should stop claiming they are a party with principles when they can swallow their pride by sitting next to Mahathir and upholding his politics of bumiputra or 'pribumi' first.

"DAP has, at one time or another, embraced Umno's Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, Anwar Ibrahim, Muhyiddin and Mahathir.
"Their leaders have physically embraced Umno's Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz and Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, among others. They once embraced Hadi. So what's next DAP?" asked Ti.
Ti was responding to Lim's prediction that Harapan would form the next federal government if the coalition could there was a 10 percent Malay and five percent Chinese vote swing in the coalition's favour. - Mkini
