Cuepacs denies viral message on raising of retirement age

Cuepacs today pointed out that the issue of the retirement age for civil servants being extended to 62 years was an old one and was deliberately being viralled.
Its president Azih Muda said the claim was being made by an irresponsible group and had been manipulated to create anger especially among younger Malaysians.
"The propaganda was being used to instigate the younger group against the government and Cuepacs and in fact, we ourselves are angry...
"This is like pitting one against another and it is a very irresponsible act,” he said when approached by reporters at a special program on National Transformation 2050 (TN 50) at Wisma Darul Iman, Kuala Terengganu.
According to Azih, such a statement was issued in 2015 and had been resolved in 2016, involving the retirement at the age of 62 for certain departments, such as the judiciary, for certain posts, such as directors, and expert services.

Meanwhile at the same event, the director-general of the Public Service Department Zainal Rahim Seman said he was confident that the civil servants were capable of making a smart decision in choosing their leaders in the 14th general election.
