The Selangor Islamic Council (Mais) has suspended the preaching tauliah (credentials) for Selangor PAS committee member Ahmad Dusuki Abd Rani.
Photos of the alleged letter suspending Dusuki were uploaded by Penang state government officer Wan Ji Wan Hussin.
Sources familiar with the matter declined to comment on the letter's authenticity, but confirmed that Dusuki right to preach has been temporarily suspended.
"It is suspended temporarily while the Mais tauliah committee is in session. The committee will decide the true outcome," a source told Malaysiakini.
Dusuki, when contacted, declined to comment, saying he would make a Facebook posting about it in one or two days.
The move comes four days after Dusuki made a controversial doa (supplication) during a solat hajat (intercessory prayer) to mark PAS' 10th year as part of the Selangor state government.
Among his doa include one for God to give PAS a chance to rule Selangor, as the state had been ruled in a "godless way."
Dusuki also prayed for God to punish those who stole PAS' seats, a reference to Amanah.
The most controversial part, however, is his prayer for God to destroy the "evil pakatan."
It is unclear if the doa at the PAS event was the reason behind Dusuki's suspension. - Mkini
