Outlet fire sparks panic at Putrajaya mall

PUTRAJAYA: More than 300 shoppers and workers scramble to safety when a health and personal care store caught fire today.
No one was injured in the 10.30am incident. The evacuation process was swift and smooth as all shoppers and tenants heeded evacuation directions of the mall management team and security officers.
Cyberjaya Fire and Rescue chief Izman Adnan confirmed the incident, adding that investigation was still being conducted to identify the cause the fire.

"We are still investigating the case and determining the losses incurred," he said.
IOI City Mall Promotion and Advertising head Joyce Chew said the mall operation resumed about 11.30am.
She said it did not take long to put out the fire as the sprinkler system on the premises was operational.
"This is the first of such incident since the mall was opened to the public at the end of 2014," she added. -nst
