Police probing Guan Eng over anti-GST song with kids

Police are investigating Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng over a video showing him rendering an anti-GST song with children.
According to the state's police chief A Thaiveegan, the probe is being carried out under Section 223(1)(a) of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
“We have opened an investigation paper following three police reports lodged by political leaders and an NGO.
“We will record his (Lim's) statement soon,” Thaiveegan (photo) was quoted as saying by Utusan Online.
Over the weekend, MCA accused the chief minister of indoctrinating children with anti-government messages through the song.
MCA publicity spokesperson Ti Lian Ker said DAP had previously criticised Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor over his presence at a school programme featuring Umno.
However, he claimed that Lim's actions were worse.
Sin Chew Daily reported that Lim aired the parody anti-GST song at the launching ceremony for free tuition classes at the Mutiara Idaman 2 flats and led the children present to sing along.
The report quoted him as saying that he had obtained the music video from the internet and decided to share it because he found it interesting, yet easy to sing.
The opening lyrics of the Bahasa Malaysia song went, “ABCD-GST, prices (of goods) are rising. Salaries have yet to increase, so we have to eat Maggi (instant) noodles.” -Mkini
